EXTERIOR TEAK TRIM: We found that freshly cleaned and bleached Teak looked very nice for up to 6 months with a few coats of NON-SLIP Superglaze™. However, the color soon (3-6 months) faded to the previous "grey" color, even though the Teak still beaded water for several years.
Unless and until, we can devise a better formula, this product should only be used over a conventional teak coating to help preserve it and prevent slipperiness underfoor in wet conditions.
SILKENSEAL™ can be used to shine up oiled or varnished INTERIOR teak, although a finish with more depth and durability on polished wood is provided by an outer coating of our MIRROR HARD Superglaze™ as seen here on a 7 year old (in 2010) Beneteau 473 Sailboat.
On the some boat, the owner found that MIRROR HARD™ was excellent for maintaining high gloss and durability of "artificial granite" countertops.
On our own Gulf 32 sailboat, we wiped over the varnished "teak and holly" cabin sole with our NON-SLIP Superglaze™ to reduce underfoot slipperiness when wet.
